UFC fighter Jake Shields slammed for fat-shaming Aerie model

Jake Shields went on a Twitter rant which he received serious pushback for, only to double down on those who refused to agree with him.

Jake Shields wants you to be in shape, and he will even call you names to help you get there. This tactic might have a slightly different effect than he’d hoped, which he realized — to his utter annoyance — thanks to the angry reaction to his fat-shaming twitter rant that has already been viewed 30 million times.

The former MMA champion fought in the UFC before he was banned for assault (which is ironic) by Dana White, who recently slapped his own wife, yet somehow neglected to ban himself for that assault. At any rate, Shields is obviously in tip-top shape, thanks to it basically being his job, and also thanks to taking banned substances, allegedly steroids. Nonetheless, he’s a pretty good fighter, earning a record of 33-11.

He’s also obviously not shy about expressing how he feels, and this time it has led to heavy blowback.

It all started when Shields posted a photo of a woman’s body he did not exactly take a liking to, and stated “This b*tch needs a gym membership, not a bikini.”

It’s worth noting that Shields likely failed to verify whether the woman already has a gym membership, and if she does, whether it would have prevented him from calling her a “b*tch.”

Jake received immediate pushback for his anti-bikini stance. One reply earned 17k likes, and reminded him that the woman would probably not be interested in him anyway.

Others just straight up called Jake “pathetic,” which our fact-checkers here at We Got This Covered have verified, though it’s unclear if they were just expressing their opinions.

Shields also got quite the taste of his own medicine as many users, inspired by his choice of words, called him a “b*tch.”
Considering the circumstances, it seems that it’s actually Shields who perfectly fits that description in this scenario, and not a model showing off her curves in a bikini.

Shields then began to react by pushing back at those who were pushing back. He can’t help himself, it’s the fighter in him.

It’s worth noting that, despite his prizefighting success, he was knocked out four times; one might deduce, especially considering his present rant, that he also got the sense knocked out of him.

That includes what he likely believes is his “sense of humor,” because, well, there is no actual sense to his humor.

Jake was surprised at the backlash, but didn’t do himself any favors with his response.

His intelligence is also severely lacking, as already showcased multiple times in the above tweets, but this next one earns the pity of many; Jake thought that his tweet being viewed 30 million times indicated support, the multi-concussed commentator being apparently unacquainted with the concept of “ratio.”
So one very generous user offered his time to explain that only 0.03% of the time did one of those views result in a “like.”

Jake Shields often composes controversial tweets, for example his response to alleged rapist Andrew Tate when he Twitter spat on Greta Thunberg.

However, Shields is the father of a 22-year old daughter, and one wonders whether he’d understand any of the backlash he’s experiencing if a stranger who didn’t like the way his daughter looked referred to her with misogynistic slurs.

We assume that Jake would have a problem with that in the same way that people have a problem with him.
