The Miami Heat are the 2011-2012 NBA Champions.
After losing in last year’s final to the Dallas Mavericks, LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh got it done, finishing off the Oklahoma City (OKC) Thunder 4-1.
Two years after arriving in Miami, enemy number one, LeBron James, has now led the Heat to its first championship since 2006. As everyone knows, Lebron came to Miami for the sole purpose of winning a championship; something he believed to be out of reach in Cleveland.
Aside from true Miami Heat fans, many began to hate James for his move to South Beach, praying that he would not win the title. Well, we’re now into June and the Heat have done it. I’m not sure what will happen to LeBron’s image in the media after this win, but one thing is for sure…James was an absolute beast in the playoffs.
OKC had a great playoff run, advancing all the way to the finals. However, despite the exceptional play of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook, they were no match for the high-flying Heat team.
Congratulations to the Miami Heat on a well deserved championship.
