Late last night GM Brian Burke made a huge splash in this years off season by acquiring Kris Versteeg from the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks. This monster deal included a total of 5 players including prospect Chris DiDomenico.
In the trade, Toronto acquired Bill Sweatt as well as Versteeg in echange for Viktor Stalberg, Chris DiDomenico and Philippe Paradis.
This infusion of talent into Toronto’s offence should help the struggling team upfront as Versteeg has one of the most sensational Toe Drags in the game. For the Blackhawks this move was simply for the salary cap impact that Versteeg would have incurred.
This move however is only the first of many as Burke will continue his quest to bring Toronto back to Cup contention.
