10 Awesome Moments From The Westworld Season 1 Finale

The first season of HBO's sci-fi western smash hit Westworld has now come to an end with the feature-length finale, titled 'The Bicameral Mind'. As was promised by showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, it answered pretty much all of the questions that have been plaguing us over the past ten weeks - from the identity of the Man in Black to the truth about the Maze - as well as opening up some new ones that will bug us until it returns to our screens in 2018. The result was probably the show's most exciting episode so far, and one that leaves us the future of the show wide open.

For weeks it has seemed that somehow Arnold has been manipulating the hosts’ code despite being long dead. In actual fact, it has been Ford all along. After his partner died, he finally saw what Arnold saw – but also realized the flaw in his thinking.

The hosts were developing, but they needed time and suffering to make them truly human. Eventually he would set them free, but only at the proper moment. Through all his scheming and murder, he was just trying to see his thirty year long plan come to fruition – effectively the emancipation of a whole new race of people.

At the end of the finale, it’s finally time to instigate the last narrative of the park – giving theĀ hosts consciousness. With the board gathered at the gala, all the old hosts in the basements get ready to storm the party. War has begun.
