2) Rooftop Stand-Off – Daredevil
The core of Daredevil‘s second season was the ethical conflict between Matt Murdock and Frank Castle. While both are crime fighting vigilantes, they have very different, conflicting methods. Daredevil has a strict no-killing rule, while Punisher believes the only way to keep a criminal down is to kill them. It’s presented as a thorny issue – while Frank’s methods are undoubtedly more effective at getting rid of criminals, there’s not much that separates him from the people he hunts. This conflict reaches its peak in an awesome scene from episode three.
[zergpaid]In “New York’s Finest,” Punisher captures Daredevil and ties him to a chimney on a rooftop. Taping a gun with one bullet in it to his hand, he tries to force Matt to break his moral code: Frank will shoot a two-bit murderer unless Matt kills him first. It’s a brilliant moral quandary that’s as well-played by Charlie Cox and Jon Bernthal as it is well-scripted. An extra plus is that it’s ripped straight from the comics.
