6) Ghost Rider Arrives – Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The introduction of fan-favourite character Ghost Rider was probably the best thing that could have happened to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in its fourth season. Paired with a later timeslot, the flame-headed Spirit of Vengeance helped the show to mature and bring back fans who had drifted away from the series. Not to mention it explored more supernatural realms of the Marvel universe that AoS hadn’t previously delved into.
Ghost Rider’s debut was a particularly awesome moment, as he faced off against Daisy ‘Quake’ Johnson in the typical crossed-wires moment of superhero crossovers. Meanwhile, the rest of the series did a good job of fleshing out Gabriel Luna’s Robbie Reyes incarnation beyond an admittedly cool-looking CGI skull.
The show’s producers have recently admitted that the character’s presence has been reduced due to budget restraints, but we hope that he’ll make a return sometime soon. Either that, or give him his own Netflix series.
