9) Brooklyn Nine-Nine
There really aren’t all that many great sitcoms on these days, and those that do air are either quickly cancelled or forgotten thanks to repetitive and stale premises. Old favourites like The Big Bang Theory and New Girl are still around, but if those aren’t your kind of show, there really isn’t that much to choose from right now.
Thank goodness then for Brooklyn Nine Nine, a quirky comedy set in a police station which brings back fond memories of Scrubs. It’s a lot of fun, and while it hasn’t been a runaway ratings hit, the show is both hilarious and packed full of great characters (the latter isn’t something many other current sitcoms can boast).
With Captain Holt taking on a different role in season three, Bill Hader (Trainwreck) is set to take charge of the unruly precinct, and his involvement alone makes Brooklyn Nine Nine worth returning to.
