5) Roy Harper
Once your regular good-natured, loyal kid sidekick to Green Arrow in the 1940s, Roy Harper, originally known as Speedy, has grown into an impulsive bad boy over the years. He’s a complex character, then, who’s had one of the most transformative arcs of any superhero sidekick.
He first shrugged off his Speedy persona to become the more mature Arsenal, and then later became Red Arrow in order to make it clear that he’d risen to the level of his mentor. He’s suffered from drug addiction, been a single father to a daughter he had with supervillain Cheshire and has lost his arm. Despite all this tragedy, though, Roy always manages to come through in the end, often thanks to the help of his friends.
Due to his character growth over the years though, Roy isn’t as solely associated with the Titans as some of the other heroes on this list. Still, while he might have served on the likes on the Outsiders, the Outlaws and don’t forget the Justice League, he’ll always been a Teen Titan first and foremost.
