“Have you been paying attention to the crazy stuff happening in New York?”
Crazy stuff? Try end-of-the-frickin’-world stuff. The kind of stuff that brings Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to their knees and reduces half of the universe to dust and ash.
But while we fully expect Avengers: Infinity War to cause a ripple effect, one that will have far-reaching implications for Marvel’s roster of TV shows – both on Netflix and beyond – season 5 of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is expected to include another series of references and cute nods to the events of Infinity War. Or so says series star Adrian Pasdar, who sat down with TVLine to discuss the immediate future of ABC’s superhero flagship.
Yeah, we do have stuff in the background periodically that references and ties into whats going on with Avengers: Infinity War. Yeah, they use that. They always tie in very well with what’s going on [in the movies].
This is by no means the first time that we’ve caught wind of the show’s MCU ties, as Marvel Television President Jeph Loeb recently assured viewers that S.H.I.E.L.D. will “acknowledge” the world around it. So perhaps we’ll get something a little more meaningful than a throwaway line.
On a personal note, Adrian Pasdar is yet to see Avengers: Infinity War with his own two eyes. And that’s despite being cordially invited to the sequel’s premiere.
I was invited to the premiere and I just couldn’t make it. I just don’t get out as much as people think I do. I feel like a vegetarian butcher — I work in the business, but I don’t sample the food!
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Friday, May 4th, with “The One Who Will Save Us All.”
