Hive had taken control of Simmons’ other-worldly boyfriend Will, giving Fitz no choice other then to… well, brutally murder him. To be fair, there’s a good chance Will was a goner as soon as the evil Inhuman possessed him, but that doesn’t make Fitz feel any better about it.

In this sneak peek, Fitz admits his guilt to Coulson, but the hardened S.H.I.E.L.D. director brushes him off with a “sometimes we have to make the tough calls” speech. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for a “game-changing second half of season three” on March 8th.
