Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys will make her Lifetime Network directorial debut this October via Five, a movie consisting of five poignant short films exploring the impact of breast cancer on people’s lives.
“Five uses humor and drama to focus on the effect breast cancer and its different stages of diagnosis have on relationships and the way women perceive themselves while searching for strength, comfort, medical breakthroughs and, ultimately, a cure,” reports Lifetime.
Starring Rosario Dawson, Jenifer Lewis, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jeffrey Tambor and more, the picture does not actually feature Keys as an actress but as a director alongside Jennifer Aniston, Demi Moore, Penelope Spheeris and Patty Jenkins.
Shot earlier this year, Keys gave fans a close up look at her directorial debut via Twitter. Aniston also discussed the film, calling it an opportunity to “entertain, inform, and inspire dialogue, research and prevention.”
Five, previously noted as Project Five, premieres October 10th at 9pm ET/PT on Lifetime.
