Witches rule this September, it seems.
On the eve of filming, series creator Ryan Murphy has unleashed a megaton on Twitter: American Horror Story season 8 will herald the TV crossover we’ve all been waiting for.
You know that Coven/Murder House event that was said to be in the works for a future season? Well, it’s happening this year, and it’ll whisk viewers into the future. Now all we need is an AHS-themed meme that states Avengers: Infinity War is no longer the most ambitious crossover ever attempted.
Said to be titled “Radioactive” due to its near-future setting, Murphy recently teased that the show’s eighth season will be unlike anything we’ve seen before. High praise indeed for a horror-thriller series that tends to up the ante with each passing installment.
It’s not necessarily as real and grounded as the past season. We’re sort of getting back to Asylum and Coven. It’s that tone. That’s the tone of it. You will see so many fan favorites return that you’ll feel like it’s The Love Boat. It’s a very high concept. It’s a season unlike anything we’ve done because there’s a big hook to it. There’s a huge thing that happens in episode five.
Casting-wise, Ryan Murphy and the Powers That Be over at FX have rounded up a whole host of familiar faces for the show’s next chapter, including Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Joan Collins, Billy Eichner, Cheyenne Jackson, Adina Porter and Leslie Grossman. Billie Lourd is also a lock for season 8, which ought to please long-time AHS fans.
Production on American Horror Story season 8 is expected to begin imminently, and when it does, it’ll signal the TV crossover we’ve all been waiting for…
