Yesterday wasn’t the best day for Marvel, with the ongoing writers’ strike causing the studio to reshuffle the entire release date calendar for the rest of the Multiverse Saga, with Deadpool 3 the only exception. However, it’s taken less than 24 hours for another casualty to be claimed, with Daredevil: Born Again now paused indefinitely.

It isn’t just Kevin Feige’s outfit that’s suffering, either, with The Batman spin-off The Penguin also hitting the pause button until the strike is resolved. To be completely honest, it was only a matter of time before this happened given the scope and scale of the respective productions, and would anyone be surprised at this point were Deadpool 3 to end up following suit?

Of course, the simple solution to end the picketing is to give the people what they want, although that’s never really been in the best interests of the people at the highest end of the food chain. Needless to say, though, if many more high-profile film and television projects end up being halted as a direct result, somebody’s going to have to finally make a concerted effort to end the stalemate.

Born Again and The Penguin aren’t due to land on Disney Plus and Max until next year, so there’s still plenty of time for each to make their respective release dates. Fortunately, concrete debuts haven’t been locked in as of yet, but there may well end up being further delays now that they’ve officially been ground to a standstill for an unspecified amount of time.
