You’ve heard of them, haven’t you? The wicked witches of American Horror Story?
Most (if not all) hail from “Coven,” while some have their roots in “Murder House,” but for season 8 of FX’s creepy anthology series, those two worlds will collide to create unmissable television.
That is, in a nutshell, the elevator pitch for American Horror Story: Apocalypse, the eighth installment in Ryan Murphy’s delightful saga that dials things up to 11 with its static-filled promos and stacked ensemble – a stacked ensemble that includes Dylan McDermott (Ben Harmon from “Murder House”) as of yesterday evening.
But to ensure audiences are fully up to speed, Murphy has shared a really rather awesome image of his formidable cast. So while the suitably titled “Apocalypse” includes the likes of Sarah Paulson as Cordelia Goode, Stevie Nicks as Stevie Nicks, Lily Rabe as Misty Day, Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery, Taissa Farmiga as Zoe Benson, Gabourey Sidibe as Queenie and Frances Conroy as Myrtle Snow, only three feature in this particular close-up.
And it’s certifiably be-witch-ing…
It’s arguably the perfect follow-up to Monday’s photo reveal, which brought together the entire ensemble cast of Apocalypse on the same staircase you’ll see up above.
American Horror Story season 8 makes its triumphant return next month – Wednesday, September 12th, to be specific – and we simply can’t wait to see what Ryan Murphy and his team have in store.
There’s still no sign of a tangible trailer, but this is AHS we’re talking about here, so perhaps FX will stick to its guns and keep pumping out one horror-infused teaser after another in order to retain some semblance of mystery. And you can’t say it isn’t working…
