This year’s Arrowverse crossover looks sure to be one of the most fan-pleasing events in The CW’s superhero universe so far. Not only will it see the debut of Batwoman (as played by Ruby Rose), but Tyler Hoechlin is also dropping by as Superman, giving us the first instance of the Man of Steel teaming up with the likes of Green Arrow and the Flash.
What’s more, Clark Kent’s iconic love interest Lois Lane will be turning up in the Arrowverse for the first time in the crossover. Other members of the Lane family previously appeared in Supergirl season 1, as Lois’ sister Lucy was portrayed by Jenna Dewan and her father General Sam Lane (Glenn Morshower) also played a supporting role. However, the Daily Planet’s finest reporter has never shown her face.
Now, thanks to That Hashtag Show, we have a new character breakdown which reveals what we can expect from the Arrowverse’s take on the character. Much like Hoechlin’s Supes, it seems that The CW will deliver a very faithful, classic interpretation of Lois.
“The show is looking to cast a Caucasian woman in her early 30s as Lois Lane. Described as the daughter of US General Sam Lane, Lois is a tenacious, righteous and stubborn reporter who will go to any length to get the story and almost never fails. The breakdown reveals that she will appear in The Flash and Supergirl episodes of the crossover event, meaning that the Arrow portion won’t feature her.”
Seeing as the description emphasizes Lois’ journalistic side, we wonder if she might come into the story because she’s investigating Batwoman – perhaps she’s on a hunt to find out who she really is? What’s more, THS tells us that Lois will appear in the second and third installments of the crossover and not Arrow‘s opening episode. Hopefully this will lead to more from Ms. Lane, most likely in Supergirl season 4.
Now that The CW’s searching for the perfect Lois Lane, we’d expect to find out who’ll be lucky enough to play the role – following the Arrowverse‘s own Erica Durance and Teri Hatcher – pretty soon. And as soon as we do, we’ll be sure to let you know.
