Matt Nix’s X-Men series
Release info: TBA (presumably 2018), Fox.
Cast: Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker and Natalie Alyn Lind will portray the central Stewart family, while Jamie Chung, Emma Dumont and Sean Teale will play classic comic book mutants Blink, Polaris and Eclipse, respectively.
Crew: Burn Notice‘s Matt Nix serves as the showrunner, while X-Men movie supremo Bryan Singer will direct the pilot episode.
What to expect: We don’t have a title for the series yet, but we do know that it will follow Reed and Kate Stewart as they go on the run to protect their mutant daughter Laura and end up with an X-Men-type group of mutants.
Why you should be excited: Unlike Legion, this series – with an incredibly strong cast, by the way – will have very clear ties to the movies and should be the start of a new X-Men TV universe.
Scarlet
Release info: TBA, Cinemax.
Cast and crew: No cast yet, but Scarlet’s creator Brian Michael Bendis will be on hand to adapt her for the small screen.
What to expect: First up, Scarlet won’t be part of the MCU, as it’s based on a character from Marvel’s grittier Icon imprint. Also, for those unfamiliar with the source material, Scarlet is an aggressively strong anti-hero who triggers a revolution in American society.
Why you should be excited: Based on an anarchic and action-packed comic, Scarlet promises to be a Marvel series unlike any other.
