By now, you’d think we’ve said all we could about the upcoming “Elseworlds” crossover, but it’s arguable there’s more intrigue and excitement going into this particular Arrowverse event than any other to have preceded it. And with just under two weeks to go until the adventure begins, we’ll undoubtedly see more news flooding the web.
So, if you’ve been keeping up with all of the assorted info, then there’s a very good chance you’re having a difficult time deciding what’s the most appealing thing about the mashup. Of course, there’s Ruby Rose making her debut as the first ever live action iteration of Batwoman, but then again, you also have Tyler Hoechlin returning as Superman – and in a black costume, no less. Oh yeah, there’s also the matter of Barry Allen and Oliver Queen swapping bodies. Like I said, there’s a lot going for this one.
As you may remember, the network let loose 20 photos taken from the crossover earlier this month, and now they’ve decided to tide us over with 14 more. Seen in the gallery below, a couple of familiar images showing Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries and villains such as Ricardo Diaz and Malcolm Merlyn being re-purposed as cops in this strange new world join a litany of other delicious teasers.
Supposedly, the bulk of these pictures are taken from the second and third chapters of the three-night event, so perhaps that knowledge will better help you plot out this thing in your head. In fact, we recently learned of how Batwoman will most likely enter the fray during the second part, so this seems on the up and up.
What’s also worth mentioning is the recurring theme of the mysterious book being passed from the Monitor to Arkham Asylum’s John Deegan, which later finds its way into the hands of the Girl of Steel. My best guess is that this sizable tome contains an incantation capable of rewriting reality, so one would expect it to be a MacGuffin in the piece.
Naturally, we’ll find out what’s going on when “Elseworlds” begins on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continues on Monday, December 10 with Arrow, and wraps up on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl.
