8) The Gladiator
Melvin Potter appeared throughout season one as the, er, specialist outfitter who decked out Wilson Fisk with lightweight body armour – and later did the same for Daredevil. In the comics, Potter was the supervillain Gladiator before he reformed and became a clothing designer.
While he still has yet to become the Gladiator, Potter does don protective armour during season two which resembles his comics outfit. He also picks up a buzzsaw blade in self-defence, referencing the original character’s usual choice of weapon.
As in season one, the stilts which belong to classic Daredevil villain Stilt-Man can still be glimpsed in Potter’s workshop. Whether this repeated easter egg is a set up for a future appearance by the character on the show we don’t know. However, as Stilt-Man would seem a little kooky in the world of Netflix’s Daredevil, we think that’s probably not the case.
