With Marvel and Netflix now ready to begin the one-week countdown until Iron Fist season 2, a bevy of HD action shots has emerged online by way of CBM.
Featuring the likes of Typhoid Mary (Alice Eve), the Daughters of the Dragon (Colleen Wing, Misty Knight) and Danny Rand as the Immortal Iron Fist, this is arguably our best look yet at the upcoming installment, as it shines a light on the new enemies Danny must face if he’s to honor the promise he made to the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen during the dying moments of The Defenders – that is, to defend New York in a world without Daredevil.
Doing so will purportedly involve a clash with Sacha Dhawan’s Davos and Mika Prada, a mysterious new power player to be portrayed by Homeland alum Julee Cerda. They’ve seemingly got into bed with Joy Meachum (Jessica Stroup), a figure from Danny’s childhood who has clearly sworn allegiance to Davos and his cause.
It’s the third Marvel/Netflix solo series to come tumbling off the production line in 2018, after viewers were treated to second installments of both Jessica Jones and Luke Cage. Now, it’s (almost) time for Danny Rand to take center stage, and the fact that Marvel has downsized the episode count is telling – series showrunner Raven Metzner and his team are clearly hoping for a quality over quantity scenario, which is, frankly, music to our ears after the somewhat forgettable first season of Iron Fist.
Second time’s a charm? We’ll certainly find out if that’s really the case when Danny Rand returns to our screens next Friday, September 7th. And Daredevil? A late 2018 release date isn’t exactly out of the question…
