The BBC’s still trying to find out how Jodie Whittaker’s first scene as the Thirteenth Doctor leaked out the other month, but now something else we’re not meant to see yet about Doctor Who season 11 has surfaced online.
Our first look at the newly-redesigned interior of the TARDIS made its way onto social media recently in the form of a snap presumably taken by a member of the production crew from the set in Doctor Who‘s home of Cardiff, Wales. Seen in the video below, the newest version of the Doctor’s time machine has a crystalline aesthetic as well as featuring hexagonal shapes on the walls – much like those seen in the promo poster for the eleventh season that was dropped at Comic-Con.
The pic’s obviously generated a lot of discussion online – with fans mixed on the TARDIS’ revamp – but the BBC likely won’t be pleased that there’s now another leak they need to plug in their (time-traveling) ship. In fact, the man who put the new TARDIS together, production designer Arwel Wyn Jones, took to Twitter to express his frustration with the image floating around, saying:
“Just found out that there’s a leaked photo of the Tardis interior, that alone makes me livid! The fact that it’s a dreadful photo, taken by someone with no hint of artistry & unlit makes me absolutely effing incandescent with rage!”
As you may’ve heard, the BBC’s just issued a subpoena for Microsoft in the hunt for whoever shared the aforementioned scene from the season 11 premiere, as they’ve taken the case to the US justice system. Due to how serious new showrunner Chris Chibnall’s being about keeping spoilers to a minimum, the corporation’s not messing around when it comes to shutting these leaks down.
In fact, so little’s been officially revealed by the BBC that we don’t even know when Doctor Who‘s set to return to our screens. But with more and more leaking out about season 11, maybe the broadcaster will take control of the stream of info themselves soon and give us something concrete.
