Season 2 of Loki is getting wildly praised as a return to form for the MCU, following the disastrous Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and Secret Invasion, and for good reason. A finale filled with intense emotions, beautiful character growth, and incredible developments in the larger MCU continuity, conducted gracefully and confidently by the writers and directors, may have officially crowned this the best Disney Plus Marvel show yet, and surely one of the best franchise entries ever.
The season picked up right where the previous left off. Sylvie killing He Who Remains completely destabilized the TVA and caused all kinds of temporal chaos that she, Loki, Mobius, and the rest of the gang must now fix. Although the discovery of Victor Timely, a Kang variant from the late 19th Century, renewed the team’s hopes that the Temporal Loom would be fixed, a disastrous setback in episode 4 had the God of Mischief once again scrambling for answers.
Is there a post-credits scene in episode 1 of Loki‘s season 2?
Yes. You’ll surely be happy to learn that the first episode of the God of Mischief’s second solo outing wraps up with a little teaser for an upcoming storyline. And not just any storyline at that. In the extra post-credits scene, we get a sneak peek at Sylvie’s whereabouts, following her brave (and a little senseless) decision to put her dagger through Kang’s heart.
The vengeful Loki variant is now hiding out in Broxton, Oklahoma in 1982. Right after she arrives, she heads to a McDonald’s (understandable) and is instantly amazed by the happy and peaceful lifestyle everyone seems to be enjoying. A loving couple and a group of friends stand out to her, as she wistfully states, “I wanna try everything.”
Fans of the show will recall that Sylvie was brutally ripped from her timeline in Asgard when she was just a child by Ravonna Renslayer and denied a chance at a normal life surrounded by her family. She swore revenge against the TVA from that point on, simultaneously trying to escape and destroy the organization. So she, more than anyone, deserves a happy meal.
Is there a post-credits scene in episode 2 of Loki‘s season 2?
This time around Marvel did not include a post-credits scene at the end of Loki. The second season’s second episode came to a close with Loki and Sylvie once again on opposite ends of the multiverse. The God of Mischief stayed behind at the TVA to help fix the Temporal Loom and stop Kang’s looming threat, while Sylvie, tired of the TVA’s rotten antics, decided to return to her new job at McDonald’s in Oklahoma. At the very end of the episode, however, we did get a teaser for adventures to come as Sylvie contemplated the TemPad she stole from He Who Remains after killing him in the season 1 finale.
Is there a post-credits scene in episode 3 of Loki‘s season 2?
No. But, if there’s an episode so chock full of action it won’t make you miss an extra teaser at the end, it’s this one. Without ruining all the fun for you with unnecessary spoilers, we can tell you Jonathan Majors is back in a big way for the third episode of Loki‘s second season. Everyone wants a piece of Victor Timely and his sketchy inventions, including a couple of familiar faces we had yet to meet this season. We’re on the edge of our seats for a continuation, but the lack of a post-credits scene makes it all the more exciting.
Is there a post-credits scene in episode 4 of Loki‘s season 2?
No. And it looks like we won’t have another one until the last episode judging by how the season is going. But, oof, what an episode! MCU fans haven’t been this taken aback and genuinely concerned for the future of their favorite characters since Thanos got his way in Infinity War. The episode may have left us with a lot more questions than answers, but if you were too distracted by that ending to check for a post-credits scene, worry not, there wasn’t one.
Is there a post-credits scene in episode 5 of Loki‘s season 2?
If you pay close attention to the end of the credits in the fifth episode of Loki‘s second season, you’ll notice something that shouldn’t really be there. While it can’t be considered a post-credits scene exactly, the episode does wrap up with a cheeky call back to an Easter Egg from earlier on in the episode.
Remember that arcade game in the bar Sylvie takes Loki to for a drink? The one inspired by Brad Wolfe aka Hunter X-05’s horror blockbuster The Zaniac! from episode 2? Yep, the automated voice warning shouting “You died. Insert a coin, loser!” at the end of episode 5 is not only a test for the more attentive Marvel fans, but also a harmless jab at those of us who always stick around until the last second to check for post-credits scenes.
Is there a post-credits scene in episode 6 of Loki‘s season 2?
Shockingly, no. Loki said everything it had to say during its fantastically tight six-episode run, capturing a complete stand-alone hero’s journey for its title character, that didn’t need any flashy appendices to get people hooked to the screen or otherwise excited about the show.
We can’t say we won’t miss this show, because the MCU has not been this intentional and inspired since the culmination of the Infinity Saga. However, it is, at the same time, proof that the franchise still has the capability to do great things and provide great additions to the superhero genre. Oh, Loki (show and character), if only we could turn back time.
