Love IslandĀ is one of the U.K.ās most popular modern television exports, but above and beyond that, it’s my go-to reality dating show. Sorry, Bachelor. Sorry, Love is Blind. Right here we have some quintessential reality dating competition, and it’s had me hooked since the word go.
Launching in 2005 as Celebrity Love Island, the 2015 reboot replaced celebs with regular people and quickly became a smash hit. This reboot spawned a global franchise that has led to shows in Australia, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Poland, and, most famously, America.
But does love last once you leave the island? How many ofĀ Love Island’sĀ couples are still together now the cameras are not rolling?Ā You’ve asked and I’m here to give you the answers, whether you’re ready for them or not. This is your most up-to-date list yet, including season 9.
What is Love Island?
Love Island is a reality show where a group of single people get sent to a luxury resort and during their time at the hideaway, the singles must work to find love and pair up into couples. They also have to survive elimination by winning tasks and entertaining the voting public. In the end, the last pair standing is declared the winner and walks away with a cash prize.
Which Love Island couples are still together?
Of course, vacationing in a fancy resort is very different from regular life. So it’s to be expected that some couples won’t last in the real world and behind closed doors. Sadly, Love Island has a history of failed pairings, but some stand the test of time, and those are the ones we’re here to highlight.
Season 1 (2015)
Hate to break it to you, but no couples from season one are together. Here, have a tissue.
Season 2 (2016)
Season two is the lucky number season in that two couples came away with not just a happy marriage but a happy family. And boy, are they adorable.
Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey: Still together
Just because you win, doesn’t always mean the relationship is a done deal. Only a few winning couples stick it out until the end, and one such couple is Cara De La Hoyde and Nathan Massey. However, this doesn’t mean it’s been smooth sailing since leaving the resort.
The couple split up in 2017, but a month later, Cara De La Hoyde announced she was pregnant. The couple worked out their differences and got back together before the child’s birth. They got married in 2019 and welcomed their second child in 2020.
Alex and Olivia Bowen: Still together
Alex and Olivia Bowen were the first Love Island couple to get married (everybody please give them a round of applause). They tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their first child in 2022.
Season 3 (2017)
Like season two, season three is a full house ā literally. Two couples made it out with not just their love intact, but a happy family. Any guess which ones?
Jess Shears and Dom Lever: Still together
Despite being born of the show’s trademark drama, Jess Shears and Dom Lever seem to be standing the test of time. The pair got engaged in 2017, mere months after the show ended. They were later married in 2018.
They welcomed their first child in 2019, and had their second in 2022.
Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt: Still together
One of the more private couples to come from Love Island, Camilla Thurlow and Jamie Jewitt are still happily together today. After getting married in 2021, the pair welcomed two children with the most recent, Nora, being born in 2022.
Season 4 (2018)
Yikes. Another season with zero couples who made it out alive. You can’t win them all, I guess.
Season 5 (2019)
A personal favorite of mine, season five saw the birth of Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury’s love story flourish right before our eyes. They might be the only ones who made it out with their love intact, but theirs is such a presence it eclipsed all the other sad breakups that came afterward.
Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury: Still together
One of the show’s most loved couples, Molly-Mae and Tommy are still together and regularly post about their relationship on social media.Ā (Take that, Jake Paul).
Season 6 (2020)
I’d call season six a personal win by the sheer number of couples who have lasted not only through the pandemic but beyond. A whopping three couples still stand, which in Love Island years is, like, a gagillion.
Nas Majeed and Eva Zapico: Still together
Due to COVID-19 and its associated lockdowns, this couple didn’t go public until July 2020, but they are still together today. They often post about their relationship on social media and in 2020 the pair quickly shut down rumors they had broken up.
Callum Jones and Molly Smith: Still together
Can honestly say I didn’t see this one coming but Callum Jones and Molly Smith are ā yes ā still together. They’re the couple other outlets seem to have forgotten exists, but they are indeed still together and live happily in Manchester according to their Instagrams. On April 12, 2023, they celebrated their anniversary.
Paige Turley and Finley Tapp: Still together
Paige Turley and Finley Tapp quickly got together in the show, and their bond has only grown with time. They moved in together during the U.K.ās COVID-19 lockdown, and they have been tight ever since.Ā They even splurged in Dec. 2022 and went to see Avatar: The Way of Water on their date night. (Then again, who didn’t? ā this is me plugging my love for Avatar and my appreciation that this couple loves it too).
Season 7 (2021)
Ouch. Another season with nothing to show for it. Just when things were looking bright for couples Faye Winter/Teddy Soares and Chloe Burrows/Toby Aromolaran, both called it quits in Feb. 2023 and Oct. 2022, respectively. I know their hearts were far more broken than mine, but these stung.
Season 8 (2022)
Season eight is still relatively fresh so we have more couples on this list than previous seasons. Let’s just hope it stays that way. Our winners Ekin-su and the Italian stallion, Davide are still happily making it work, so that’s a plus. Let’s check out the full list.
Ekin-su CĆ¼lcĆ¼loÄlu and Davide Sanclimenti: Still together
What a roller coaster ride this relationship was. After a season of on-screen ups and downs, Ekin-su and Davide came out on top in the end, winning the title of season eight champs and that delicious cash prize of Ā£50K. In Oct. 2022 Ekin-su announced that she and Davide were moving in together. In case you were wondering what too good to be true looks like, It’s Ekin-su and Davide. (But it is true, which is the best part).
Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope: Still together
Third place means nothing to Indiyah and Dami. The lovebirds are still going strong and even announced in Nov. 2022 that they were moving in together. Despite parting ways during the show’s Casa Amor challenge, Indiyah and Dami worked it out and are making it work (or should we say werk). This is one couple that I could see really going all the way. Fingers crossed.
Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page
This dream team is the only day-one couple to make it all the way to the finale. No switcharoos, no breakups. Just love. Well, a little drama (lest we forget Casa Amor), but it’s all worked out in the end. Andrew even called Tasha “wifey” material on his Instagram, which is practically an engagement ā so where’s the ring, my man?
Season 9 (2023)
It doesn’t take a genius to know why this season has the most number of couples still together. It’s an infant compared to other seasons. Time isn’t kind to Love Island alumni, sadly, but I would love nothing more than to see this season walk away with the most pairings yet. Currently, it is at a whopping four.
Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan: Still together
Yes, our reigning champs are still together, and they couldn’t be more adorable even if they tried. I smell a keeper here, just saying. Don’t be surprised if this makes it all the way.
Ron Hall and Lana Jenkin: Still together
Just look at these faces. That’s joy. After pairing together and then splitting up during their seasons, Ron and Lana know what it is to live without each other, and they don’t want any part of it.
Shaq Muhammad and Tanya Manhenga: Still together
This is what you call love at first sight. Shaq and Tanya were the real deal from the start, managing to stick it out all the way to the season finale. They endured some hurdles along the way when Tanya became infatuated with Martin and left Shaq during the Casa Amor event (it’s always the dang Casa Amor event), but they eventually found their way back to each other and have been going strong ever since.
Will Young and Jessie Wynter: Still together
What happens when a Brit and an Aussie wander onto an island for a dating competition? They fall in love, of course. Will and Jessie. Despite Lana venturing over to pursue a connection with Will, the man stayed true to his love for Jessie and has remained loyal ever since.
Alert! Alert! Cross-season pairing: Luke Mabbott and Lucie Donlan
Luke Mabbott and Lucie Donlan from season six and season five are hashtag-thriving. Although Luke paired with Demi Jones on season six of Love Island their love fizzled out after they left the villa. The tatted baddie with a big heart is now happily engaged to Lucie from season five.
