Evidence Mounts That Batwoman Will Be Set On Earth-38

ComicBook.com has pieced together a series of tidbits which appear to suggest that Batwoman will take place on the same world as Supergirl, after all.

Is Earth-38 about to welcome Kate Kane into its midst?

That’s the latest Arrowverse theory put forward by ComicBook.com, which claims that December’s crossover event will take place on Earth-38, AKA Supergirl‘s homeworld.

Ditto for the Batwoman spinoff series that is just now beginning to make headway in development, so while there’s no guarantee that Ruby Rose’s crimefighter will stand on her own two feet beyond 2018, we can at least take solace in the fact that this year’s crossover event is shaping up to be one for the ages – not least because it’ll feature Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman and an as-yet-uncast Lois Lane.

Speaking of that particular duo, CB is alleging that their addition to The CW’s Arrowverse crossover strongly indicates that it’ll take place on Earth-38, just like the embryonic Batwoman series that’s in the works from Caroline Dries (The Vampire Diaries) and franchise architect Greg Berlanti.

The multi-part nature of this year’s Arrowverse crossover is also telling, as is the decision to save Supergirl until the third and final episode. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will be sitting out of this year’s TV event, which isn’t all that surprising when you consider that the show’s humorous tone would be at odds with The Flash and Arrow, two comic book series known for their grit and drama.

Granted, we should note that there’s still a small possibility that 2018’s Arrowverse team-up will be rooted on Earth-1, as there’s still a Gotham City. But considering all of the evidence presented by ComicBook.com, and the fact that Batwoman‘s home city is present on Earth-38, we could be looking at a slightly different origin story for Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane. More from The CW’s small-screen universe as it emerges.
