Something The Flash has excelled at since its first season is incorporating a variety of DC heroes and villains, be they well known or obscure, in organic fashion. With the show’s return imminent, it’s time to discuss which ones we’ll see in the very near future.
Last summer, we learned that a musical crossover with Supergirl would happen at some point and many theorized that the Music Meister would be the antagonist. Well, if that was your guess, you’ve been proven correct. Executive producer Greg Berlanti not only confirmed this at the TCA winter press tour, but also let us know the status of the project (via Comic Book Movie):
“It is going to be the Music Meister. We’re finishing writing the script this weekend.”
In addition to that, the much talked about return of Black Flash will indeed occur sometime soon. But what really got our attention was what executive producer Andrew Kreisberg had to say to The Wrap:
“I will say that you might be seeing him on multiple shows.”
Now, you have to admit, that’s a statement that will cause much speculation. My initial thought as to what other series he may appear on immediately brings me to DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, which currently includes the Reverse Flash among its series regulars. But only time will tell.
Kreisberg added:
“[Black Flash] is a classic character. We have storylines on multiple shows that fit having him around. There’s something so scary about him, something even scarier than when he was just the man, because now he is the Grim Reaper; he is the devil. How do you stop the devil? So it presents an interesting challenge for the heroes of the respective shows in which he appears.”
The Flash returns with new episodes on Tuesday, January 24 on The CW.
