Morgan Jones is headed for uncharted territory.
True to their initial promise, AMC is taking two of its biggest TV properties – namely The Walking Dead and its ongoing companion series, Fear The Walking Dead – and weaving them together for the very first time.
Each series has always existed in the same post-apocalyptic universe, of course, but when FTWD shuffles back onto the small screen for its fourth season, it’ll open its undead arms to Morgan James, the fan-favorite survivor brought to life by industry veteran Lennie James.
He’s been a fixture of The Walking Dead from the very beginning, so we can’t imagine another character better suited to AMC’s long-awaited crossover. And thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we now have an early peek at what’s to come:
The arrival of Morgan is part of the reason why season 4 of FTWD has been championed as must-see television, and here, incoming showrunner Andrew Chambliss outlined how that crossover came to be.
Via EW:
As Morgan Jones steps into the world of FTWD, he’ll be continuing the journey he began on The Walking Dead way back in the pilot. It’s been a great challenge to set for ourselves, and it’s what we hope to do with the character — to push Morgan to places he could only get by coming into contact with the characters on Fear. They’ll change him. And, at the same time, he’ll change them.
Lennie James is just one of many newcomers set to appear in Fear The Walking Dead season 4, as AMC has also cast Garret Dillahunt, Jenna Elfman, Maggie Grace and Kevin Zegers. They’ll be standing shoulder to shoulder with Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo and Danay Garcia.
Expect Fear The Walking Dead to make its return mid-way through 2018. As for AMC’s flagship, The Walking Dead will continue its adaptation of the famous All-Out War comic from February 25th.
