As promised, IGN has premiered the maiden full-length trailer for Marvel and Netflix’s Daredevil series.
Starring Boardwalk Empire‘s Charlie Cox as the lawyer by day, crime-fighting superhero by night, the latest iteration of the character is due to arrive on the streaming service on April 10, when all thirteen of the hour-long episodes will be available to binge instantly.
At just over ninety seconds in length, our first look at Cox’s rendition of Matt Murdock is a tantalizing peak at what fans can expect in a few months time. It is for all intents and purposes an origin story, with a few shots showing the ways in which Murdock discovers superhuman senses after he was left blind as a child. Joining Cox for the show are Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, and Vincent D’Onofrio as big bad, The Kingpin.
Currently, Marvel and Netflix have agreed a deal for one season of the Daredevil, but reports have suggested that the companies are discussing the possibility of a sophomore series already. Besides, with AKA Jessica Jones and Luke Cage due to get their own series, all culminating in the Defenders miniseries, Marvel will be eager to spread its wings in the medium.
Marvel’s Daredevil is slated to premiere exclusively on Netflix on April 10. For now, you can share your own early impressions of the footage in the comments section below.
“Marvel’s Daredevil” follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.
