EW Reveals First Look At The Flash’s New Costume For Season 6

Here's your first look at Barry Allen's new suit for The Flash season 6, as revealed in a stunning new cover shoot for Entertainment Weekly.

Flash Barry season 5

Ahead of this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con, Entertainment Weekly has debuted some stunning new promo images for the upcoming seasons of the Arrowverse. EW’s cover shoot brings together five of the biggest heroes from across The CW’s DC shared universe. And in doing so, they’ve given us our first look at Grant Gustin’s latest revamped costume as the Flash.

Fans will remember that the Scarlet Speedster got a major wardrobe alteration at the beginning of season 5, with his old darker, leather threads being replaced with something that was more form-hugging and a much brighter red. As you can see from the images below, the season 6 edition is much less of an overall change from the last time. However, the extra gold detailing woven throughout the outfit is unique to this version.

Of course, Gustin has already teased this new look via a recent Instagram post. It seems Cisco has got in the mood to give everyone a fresh outfit since we last checked in on Central City, too, as set photos have also revealed that Killer Frost will be in some new togs in season 6 as well. And over on Supergirl, meanwhile, Kara Danvers has also got a boldly revamped costume, with her red skirt replaced by some blue pants.

You could say there’s a theme of change running through the Arrowverse this year, then. Arrow‘s eighth season will be its last, while Batwoman begins this fall. Plus, “Crisis on Infinite Earths” promises to be the crossover to end all crossovers. The franchise might look very different in a year’s time, so it kind of makes sense to mirror the incoming universal shake-up in the characters’ freshened-up costumes.

Expect more to come out about The Flash and its fellow Arrowverse shows during Comic-Con this weekend. Meanwhile, season 6 premieres on The CW on Tuesday, October 8th.
