According to The Hashtag Show, The Flash production team are currently on the hunt for two actors and an actress to take on three important roles for season 4 of The CW superhero series.
THS claims to have got hold of some official character breakdowns for new recruits to the show. The first is for a character that we’ve known for a while will be turning up next season – Clifford DeVoe AKA The Thinker. The character had been name-dropped a couple of times in season 3 and was expected to end up being season 4’s big bad.
CLIFFORD DEVOE/THE THINKER–Male, 40-50, Any Ethnicity. After being caught in the particle accelerator explosion, Clifford Devoe became an extremely intelligent meta-human. A super genius who’s plans to fix all he sees wrong with humanity. Regular for Season 4
The second is for The Thinker’s right-hand woman, known as The Mechanic. It sounds like this time around, the villain will have his very own version of Cisco.
THE MECHANIC–Female, 30-40, Any Ethnicity. An extremely intelligent engineer who will design devices for Clifford Devoe. Basically, Devoe’s right hand. She’ll support Devoe no matter the consequences. RECURRING GUEST
The third character description is the one that will really get fans talking. That’s because season 4 will see the introduction of a new superhero. Namely, Ralph Dibny AKA Elongated Man. The character had previously been mentioned back in season 1 as having died from the particle accelerator explosion, but it seems that he’s alive again in the post-Flashpoint timeline.
[RALPH DIBNY/ELONGATED MAN]Male, Mid to late 30s, Any Ethnicity. A Ryan Reynolds or Chris Pratt type. Ralph is able to drastically change the shape of his body, but is having a difficult time changing his ways. Will most likely be comedic relief for the season.MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR, COULD COME BACK IN SEASON 5
If these casting descriptions turn out to be true, these three characters could be really great additions to The Flash. It should be interesting to see an antagonist challenge Barry mentally rather than physically and you can never have too many superheroes in one show. Let’s just hope they succeed in finding someone who can match up to their “Ryan Reynolds or Chris Pratt” image for the character.
The Flash returns on Tuesday, October 10th. Until then, we’ll be sure to keep you posted on any more casting developments that might arise.
