As a result of its moving from FX to sister network FXX, You’re the Worst, one of the best new shows of last year, wound up being separated from fellow freshman comedy Married and delayed from summer until fall. But never fear, loyal viewers – the series has been newly dated for Wednesday, September 9, premiering at 10:30 p.m. ET after the final season premiere of The League. Wednesday Funday, anyone?
You’re the Worst, written and exec-produced by creator Stephen Falk, is billed as an anti-romantic comedy, about two self-destructive individuals (Aya Cash and Chris Geere) who find themselves in a quasi-relationship despite both of their intentions to the contrary. The sophomore run will explore how their dynamic shifts when the pair are forced to move in together after a vibrator-sparked house fire (just do yourself a favor and watch this show).
As for The League, which is entering its seventh and final season, the Seinfeld-esque comedy centers on a group of friends who squabble and have assorted misadventures while competing in a fantasy football league that holds near-unparalleled importance to all of them. Mark Duplass, Nick Kroll, Jon Lajoie, Stephen Rannazzisi, Katie Aselton and Paul Scheer star.
Both You’re the Worst and The League, from FX Productions, originally started life on FX. The former will complete the move to FXX when its second season premieres this fall, and the latter moved over in 2013.
