Despite the fact that it is due to premiere in six weeks time, Marvel’s Daredevil is still a project shrouded in mystery. Up until this point, fans have been treated to a scintillating launch trailer that showcased Boardwalk Empire‘s Charlie Cox as the titular superhero, while several screenshots have found their way online that shed some light on his appearance.
But today, the studio has changed gears to focus on the show’s litany of side characters, who take center stage in these newly-released images debuted by Empire. Included in the gallery below, the stills feature Rosario Dawson, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and a fleeting look at Vincent D’Onofrio as overarching big bad, the Kingpin.
Much like its cinematic universe, Daredevil is teeing up several crossover events in the medium for Marvel, with AKA Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist laying the foundations for The Defenders showdown. Granted, the company’s new take on Matt Murdock has only been granted one season, but early reports have suggested that Marvel is already discussing the possibility of a renewal as it looks to strengthen its presence in the realm of television.
Marvel will make its Netflix debut when all thirteen episodes of Daredevil arrive on the streaming service come April 10.
“Marvel’s Daredevil” follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. The series stars Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson with Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk.
