When it comes to Marvel, rumors circulating any unreleased film and show are pretty much a given. But the upcoming limited series — Secret Invasion — which is set to properly bring back Nick Fury after years, has a lot more hinging on its ultimate release. So much so that its newly released teaser following closely on the Instagram story update of a beloved former Marvel star has kickstarted a fresh round of rumors that their character is all set to do the impossible and make a comeback.
The teaser in itself doesn’t make any such promises, though it does present another excellent Marvel offering after a long time — Fury, now the most wanted man on the planet, is on a mission and he has no desire to drag in his super-powered allies to deal with it.
But the fact that just hours before it Chloe Bennet — who played Daisy Johnson, aka Quake in the non-canon Marvel series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. — posted a story confirming that she got inked in Vancouver has everyone adding a 2 and 2 together and concluding that it might not even exist.
While hopes for Bennet’s return as Quake have been around for a long time, this possible coincidence has already changed “ifs” to “when.”
Some know it is probably futile to expect Quake’s return in any capacity, but it is hard to give up on this particular dream.
Given the pace at which Secret Invasion’s cast and storyline have been a part of rumors — especially speculations that Bennet is ready to make her proper MCU debut — it is best to not get hyped at the smallest chance of it all being true.
The last time we saw Daisy Johnson, she was on a deep space exploration mission with her sister Kora and Daniel Sousa. But hey, in case Marvel does decide to make Quake canon, going into space is the last thing that could deter them. So, take all the rumors with a grain of salt but keep the hope alive in your hearts.
