As Gotham rolls on, so, too, does Bruce Wayne inch ever closer to his destiny of becoming Batman. And while I’m currently having a hard time choosing which season is my favorite to date, viewing the most recent offering for a second time may very well seal the deal.
I say that because word just came down confirming Gotham: The Complete Fourth Season will be made available via Blu-ray (digital copy included) and DVD formats on August 21. As such, I can’t wait to relive this leg of the journey, as not only did Jim Gordon and Bruce endure much in the past year, but a wealth of villains made their presence known as well.
Before elaborating on that, let’s take a look at this synopsis provided:
Horror fills the streets as season four of Gotham witnesses the emergence of the criminal landscape for which Gotham City is best known while Bruce Wayne begins the path to vigilantism, showing signs of the caped crusader to come. Gotham City Police Department Captain Jim Gordon and Detective Harvey Bullock remain at the forefront of the fight against the most depraved and unhinged villains from Penguin to The Riddler and numerous others in between. Detective Gordon also finds himself fighting personal demons like never before.
Understandably, series regulars such as Penguin and Riddler were mentioned above, but let’s not forget what the likes of Professor Pyg, Scarecrow, Ra’s al Ghul and Mad Hatter brought to the table. Plus, there was the little matter involving the brilliant Cameron Monaghan playing two distinctly different iterations of a certain knave known to favor sharp clothing and a smile.
If that weren’t enough, we have the following bonus features accompanying the 22 episodes as well.
- The Best of DC TV’s Comic-Con Panels San Diego 2017
- Solomon Grundy: Born on a Monday
- The Sirens Take Gotham
- Deleted Scenes
