Speaking of whom, Batman himself will make an appearance in the episode, as Bruce Wayne will return to his hometown as a man with a super-secret identity. The Dark Knight isn’t captured in these pics, but he is teased in the thrilling trailer for the finale up above.

As for the promo photos, the likes of Penguin, Riddler and Gordon do feature, with all of them sporting their classic looks from the comics and the movies. After five seasons, Ben McKenzie is set to finally have the kind of face fuzz that we associate with Gotham’s police commissioner, while Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Taylor Lord) and Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) can be seen in their garish supervillain outfits. Also of note is that Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) has a new do which resembles the red hair of her daughter, the future Batgirl.

Just as Batman himself is not glimpsed in these promo images, neither is his nemesis. We’ve been waiting for Jeremiah Valeska to re-emerge again after completing his transformation into the Joker and falling into a vat of chemicals a few weeks back, and that’s set to happen in the finale.

Akin to The Dark Knight Returns, the Clown Prince of Crime will awaken from a comatose-like state when the Caped Crusader makes himself known.
