As was revealed during the summer, the Netflix Gods have not been kind to Hemlock Grove, with chief content officer Ted Sarandos confirming that Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman’s jet-black series would come to an end after its third and final season later this year.
Truth be told, the network’s decision to renew the show for a sophomore outing was surprising enough, but the Eli Roth-produced drama began to find its feet throughout the course of season 2, and now, with a finish line in sight, Hemlock Grove is ready to take fans toward “some dark and unexpected places” with a relentlessness that has become something of a signature for the supernatural series.
Lifted once again from Brian McGreevy’s novel of the same name, today’s trailer ramps up the shlock horror to 11, all the while teasing a sense of closure for the denizens of the titular, tortured Pennsylvania town. Bill Skarsgård, Kaniehtiio Horn, Camille De Pazzis and X-Men alum Famke Janssen topline the cult series’ ensemble cast.
Netflix is primed to debut all ten episodes of Hemlock Grove season 3 on October 23.
Hemlock Grove comes to a riveting and deliciously disturbing conclusion. As the town’s grim secrets continue to unravel at an alarming pace, Olivia (Famke Janssen), Roman (Bill Skarsgård), Peter (Landon Liboiron) and Shelley (Madeleine Martin) are introduced to mysterious new people while facing dangerous and unexpected obstacles. As enemies both foreign and familial close in, Peter and Roman learn that in order to prevent the ‘end of days,’ they will both need to sacrifice their humanity and release their true inner monsters.
