HBO Renews Game Of Thrones For A Second Season

HBO's new show Games Of Thrones has been renewed for a second season after only one episode. While it premiered to positive reviews, not many viewers turned in. The premiere only had 2.2 million viewers, which is nothing compared to Boardwalk Empire's premiere which earned 4.4 million. Now when you had in the encore of Games Of Thrones' premiere, the total moves up to 4.2 million, which isn't bad. So I guess it's not terribly surprising that it was renewed.

Michael Lombardo, the president of HBO said:

“We are delighted by the way David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have brought George R.R. Martin’s amazing book series to the screen, and thrilled by the support of the media and our viewers. This is the continuation of an exciting creative partnership.”

I’m not one to judge a book by its cover but I didn’t love the premiere. I’ve given it two viewings and am still not fully convinced that it’s going to be a show that will be worth my time. I’ll likely continue to watch, at least for a few episodes, but I’m still not sure if I’m going to stick with it. One thing I found was that I had a hard time keeping track of who was who and apparently Screen Rant felt the same way. They’ve put together a really handy infographic that helps sort out who is who. Check it out.
