House of the Dragon was nominated and won a BAFTA Television Craft Award for Best Make Up and Hair Design, Best Sound: Fiction, and Best Special, Visual & Graphic Effects. These accolades are some of the many achievements this Game of Thrones prequel has picked up. Prior to these awards, House of the Dragon won Best Television Series – Drama at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards and Excellence in Sci-Fi/Fantasy Television at the 2023 Costume Designers Guild Awards.

Thanks to the successful reception House of the Dragon received during its first season, it was confirmed that the show’s second installment has been greenlit and has recently entered production. The series showrunner, Ryan Condal, has revealed that the pieces have been set to tell a story about a “house tearing itself apart from within” and that season two will continue where season one left off. Thanks to the success of the prequel series, HBO has announced another spin-off, titled A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms which will be available to stream on HBO Max at a later date.

All episodes of season one of House of the Dragon are available to stream on HBO Max. Meanwhile, season two of the series is scheduled to come out in 2024 but HBO warns of a possible delay due to “production quality.” Hopefully, the show’s second season could surpass the success season one received.
