NBC took to Comic-Con yesterday in order to unveil the first full trailer for this fall’s conspiracy thriller series Blindspot. Jaimie Alexander (Thor: The Dark World) stars as a mysterious, amnesiac Jane Doe who is discovered, naked and covered in intricate tattoos the meaning of which she is unclear on, in a bag in Times Square.

That Bourne Identity-esque setup is just the beginning, though – Jane Doe is quickly introduced to FBI Agent Kurt Weller (Sullivan Stapleton), whose name is etched across her back. Together, they begin to realize that the tattoos point to some larger conspiracy, and that the mysterious woman’s very particular set of skills suggest a terrifying background that may be better left unknown.

Though the premise suggests a mind-boggling mystery on the level of MementoBlindspot is probably going to wind up a lot closer to The Blacklist in execution – which is coincidentally exactly what NBC is hoping it will perform like in the ratings. The Peacock Network has been struggling to launch dramas (this past season was crushingly pathetic in that department), but with the excessive star power and twisty premise here, it seems like execs may have finally zeroed in on the network’s next big show.

Blindspot arrives September 21.

In the series, a beautiful Jane Doe (Alexander) is discovered naked in Times Square, completely covered in mysterious, intricate tattoos with no memory of who she is or how she got there. There’s one thing that’s very clear, however: the name of FBI agent Kurt Weller (Stapleton), emblazoned across her back. ‘Jane,’ Agent Weller and rest of the FBI quickly realize that each mark on her body is a crime to solve, leading them closer to the truth about her identity and the mysteries to be revealed.
