In hindsight, Raylan may find that one of his biggest regrets he has this season is mentioning to Edi Gathegi’s character, Jean Baptiste, that Dewey Crowe (Damon Herriman) had just come into a considerable amount of cash recently. There’s nothing that criminals like more than an easy score, and conning Dewey out of his settlement doesn’t seem like it’ll be the toughest thing Daryl (Michael Rapaport) has done this week – let alone gotten away with. And, chances are once he convinces Dewey to share his money with him, the way he chooses to reinvest it won’t exactly be legal. All of which will only eventually cause Raylan one substantial-sized migraine. You know things are headed for trouble when Dewey, of all characters, starts looking somewhat likeable.
On top of that, at some point you know he’s going to become involved in Boyd’s (Walter Goggins) mess with Detroit. Whether Boyd calls in a favor, or the law sends him to sniff around, there are just too many dead bodies piling up for it not to attract some attention. The parting gift shipment from the Canadians who just took over Detroit being hit was sure to just be the start of Boyd’s growing list of woes. My best bet would be that it had something to do with the strung out looking blonde that came looking for a fix from the outspoken drug dealer. She was just a little too curious about specifics for my taste.
This is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Boyds and his problems though. Ava (Joelle Carter) is heading to trial for murder, and since Boyd’s negotiations with influential parties haven’t gone very well, it doesn’t look like the outcome of this trial will either. On top of that, he now has to come up with a large sum of cash to pay off the trophy wife and get her out of town, and the funeral director may very well wake up. The worst thing that could happen for Ava now is Boyd ending up in his own cell.
Do you think Boyd can manipulate his and Ava’s way out of trouble one more time, or will they both end up as guests of the state for the considerable future? Is Raylan getting a bit too predictable? Let us know what you though of this week’s episode of Justified in the comments section below!

- Is Art going to connect Raylan to the murder at the tarmac?
