Twitter is turning into a ghost town under Elon Musk’s reign, and The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey is the latest star to bid their legions of fans farewell following the removal of the “legacy verified checkmarks.”

Regardless of what the eccentric billionaire may believe or want for his social media site, many people will simply refuse to pay for their verified status. It’s not even a matter of money, as another subscription wouldn’t necessarily make a dent in anyone’s pocket. For most folks, it’s the principle of the matter, and they’re even willing to go to extreme lengths to stand by it.

Game of Thrones and The Last of Us alum Bella Ramsey is one such individual, recently announcing that they’re departing the platform for a more congenial space. Ramsey said goodbye to Twitter and their “gay army,” writing:

While Bella had already melted our hearts with their portrayal of Lady Lyanna Mormont in Game of Thrones, the actress achieved a whole new level of prominence by appearing as the co-lead in The Last of Us. In it, Ramsey portrays Ellie Williams, who, as many gamers will tell you, is one of the most iconic characters in the history of the interactive medium.

Ramsey will be back to portray Ellie in the next two seasons of The Last of Us. And this time, she’ll be the star of the hour, with Pedro Pascal’s Joel taking a backseat now that he’s rescued his ward and brought her to Jackson.

All nine episodes of The Last of Us are currently available for streaming on HBO Max.
