As Iron Fist barrels down on its March 17th release date, Marvel and Netflix currently have all hands at the pump in anticipation of the show’s premiere.
It’ll introduce the fourth and final member of The Defenders – following the trial blazed by Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Mike Colter’s Luke Cage – just in time for Marvel’s team-up series dropping mid-way through 2017. Finn Jones (Game of Thrones) is the actor tasked with bringing Danny Rand to life on the small screen, and earlier this week we got a neat overview of the heroic origins story that awaits him in little over a month’s time.
Returning to New York City a full 15 years after he was presumed dead, Danny sets about course-correcting Rand Enterprises and, in channeling his newfound abilities, fighting crime in and around the streets of Hell’s Kitchen. He won’t do so alone, either; Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) will lend her martial arts skills to the cause, and up above you’ll get a glimpse of Marvel stalwart Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) as well. Rounding out the cast for Iron Fist are Lewis Tan, Jessica Stroup and Tom Pelphrey.
Finn Jones’ Iron Fist will pummel his way onto Netflix in time for March 17th. Much like previous standalone series, it’ll be comprised of 13 episodes in total (have a gander at each title here) before The Defenders arrives later in 2017 for a truncated eight-episode run.
Fifteen years after being presumed dead in a plane crash, Danny Rand (Finn Jones) mysteriously returns to New York City determined to reclaim his birthright and family company. However, when a long-destined enemy rises in New York, this living weapon is forced to choose between his family’s legacy and his duties as the Iron Fist.
