7) Revolution

NBC may have cancelled Revolution after only two seasons, but what a glorious second season it was. In a lot of ways, the show really found its footing with the collapse of the Monroe Republic. Even though it took a minute to make the transition between Monroe (David Lyons), the psychotic dictator, and Monroe, the knight in shining armor, watching him play with the good guys made the show that much better.

If season one set the stage, season two brought it home. The characters were more developed, the story was more profound and, the surprises were readily available. The realities of the nanites took on a life of their own, which dominated a fair share of the screen time, and even though the storyline was based in science, it created a supernatural element to the show.

Unfortunately, fans will never get to see how this plot point plays out, but that doesn’t mean the writers didn’t attempt to wrap up some of the remaining open-ended questions that the story naturally established. They truly did as much as they could, and it was very much appreciated.
