Variety reports that each series will be Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios co-productions, and are expected to premiere on Hulu in 2020. Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb will serve as executive producer on both projects. The news comes to us in the wake of the Disney-Fox deal, which saw the Mouse House become a majority shareholder in Hulu.

Out of the two characters getting the small screen treatment, there’s a very good chance that Ghost Rider is the one you’re more familiar with, if only through Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. or Nicolas Cage’s two-movie run in the role. Specifically, it’s said that the series will focus on Robbie Reyes, an antihero consumed by hellfire and supernaturally bound to a demon. This vengeful figure lives on the Texas/Mexico border, where he fights for the innocent but struggles to control his power. Justified producer Ingrid Escajeda will serve as showrunner.

Meanwhile, in Helstrom (spelled “Hellstrom” in the comics), Daimon and Ana Helstrom are the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer. The brother and sister are said to have a complicated dynamic as they track down the worst of humanity. Lost and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Paul Zbyszewski has been enlisted as showrunner for this series, as well as serving as executive producer for both new shows.

Ghost Rider and Helstrom are just the latest examples of Marvel’s continued expansion of their Hulu slate. Back in February, four animated shows were ordered for the streaming service, based on the properties Howard the Duck, M.O.D.O.K, Hit-Monkey, and Tigra and Dazzler. On top of that, Runaways has already been renewed for a third season.
