Excitement is in the air for the upcoming Marvel series, Secret Invasion, and while it was unfortunate that the show didn’t release a trailer during the Super Bowl, it seems like the wait for the series shouldn’t be long, according to Marvel Insiders.
The Direct reported that known Marvel Insider, KC Walsh, posted on Twitter that Secret Invasion is scheduled to hit sometime around May 2023, but warned fans that dates could change anytime. They announced that they plan to drop some tiny MCU hints throughout the week. While it’s not much, this is the closest thing anyone’s got to a release date for the series.
Walsh is known for sharing Insider knowledge between Marvel and DC. In 2021, he shared a rumor about Marvel Studios planning to reboot X-Men, only for it to be hinted in Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. Recently, Walsh revealed that Marvel Studios have added sequels for Shang-Chi and Eternals to its production calendar. So exciting times for Marvel fans, especially since it’s been a while since there was a Marvel Disney Plus series release.
Five months ago, Marvel Studios released the first official trailer for Secret Invasion during the D23 convention. The series stars Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury. The show will have six episodes, telling the story of Fury and Skrull Talos working together to stop an invasion.
Secret Invasion started production in April 2021 and finished shooting a year later. The show was later announced again during the Marvel presentation at San Diego Comic-Con, where Feige confirmed that the series would be released around Spring 2023, and will be part of Phase Five of the MCU.
