Rumors and speculation about Disney’s ever-evolving Marvel slate have been popping off in recent days, no thanks to numerous reports rom a usually-reliable insider who claims to have access to Marvel’s production calendar.
The insider, KC Walsh, recently responded to a query about the upcoming X-Men ‘97 cartoon, and it turns out it may be around for a good while longer than we may have initially thought. In fact, it may well be around for four seasons:
While we’re yet to get any sort of concrete details as to when the X-Men will be making a proper live-action debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe outside of random multiversal cameos, at the very least it looks like everyone’s favorite group of mutants will be getting plenty of animated adventures.
A few other juicy tidbits KC Walsh has recently revealed, should you choose to believe them, include the fac that we may be getting Secret Invasion a lot sooner than we think, details about the release date of Loki season two, and that one of the MCU’s most reviled movies may be getting a sequel, but we’re still struggling to understand why that may be the case.
For the time being, the next big thing for the MCU is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, set for release on May 5. In the meantime, X-Men ‘97 is expected to make its Disney Plus debut some time during the fall.
