Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t exactly the ratings hit that the series premiere back in 2013 indicated it would be, and since then, Agent Carter has been cancelled and Marvel’s Most Wanted was scrapped before it even reached the air. Thankfully, a couple of other Marvel TV shows are still in the works away from ABC, and we now have an interesting update on two of them.
According to Production Weekly, Freeform’s Cloak & Dagger and Hulu’s The Runaways are both set to begin production next month. The former is heading to New Orleans, while the latter will take place in Los Angeles. With any luck, that means some casting news is on the way, and it appears now as if both may be targeting a premiere this coming Fall.
Interestingly, they also mention that the working title for Cloak & Dagger is “Shadows,” while The Runaways is going to known as “Rugrats.” That will make it easier to spot various production updates moving forward, but as always, reports like this should be taken with a pinch of salt until something official is revealed by Marvel or either one of these networks.
Similar to the comic books they’re based on, both of these shows are being aimed at a young adult audience. That being said, they definitely have a lot of potential and fans are no doubt excited to see what they bring to the table. Especially since the studio hasn’t had the best luck on the small screen lately (aside from their Netflix offerings, of course).
Tell us, which of these Marvel TV shows are you most excited to see on the small screen: Cloak & Dagger or The Runaways? Sound off down below with your thoughts!
