Marvel and Netflix’s Iron Fist is headed to San Diego Comic-Con, but it’s all quiet on the MCU front.
Per Deadline, season 2 of Iron Fist is expected to headline the studio’s SDCC offerings, including an appearance from lead star Finn Jones and a host of old faces and new. The actor is about to make a small cameo during Luke Cage‘s second season (our review), so with talk of a possible Heroes for Hire spinoff, this panel comes at an exciting time for young Danny Rand.
Elsewhere on the Netflix roster, there’ve been rumblings of a possible panel for The Punisher, which already has season 2 in the can but is yet to announce an official premiere date. The same goes for Daredevil season 3, though it’s since been alleged that Iron Fist will be making his return before the Man Without Fear, which is a little strange, given Daredevil was once Marvel and Netflix’s premier series.
Right now, it looks more likely that the studio will carve out a slot for The Punisher, given Jon Bernthal is already expected to swing by San Diego Comic-Con to announce his return to The Walking Dead. Word is he’ll appear in just one episode of season 9, though the finer details of that cameo remain under lock and key.
For Marvel, though, this year’s SDCC will see the company double down on its TV catalog – Iron Fist included – given the likes of Captain Marvel and the soon-to-be-released Ant-Man and the Wasp are expected to forgo the annual presentation entirely.
San Diego Comic-Con begins the weekend of July 19th, and we’ll be bringing you all the latest intel between now and then.
