Stella Meghie, known for being the executive producer for Whitney Houston‘s biopic I Wanna Dance With Somebody, and director for the Hulu series Grown-ish, will be taking the directive reigns in the upcoming series. According to Deadline, neither Meghie nor Marvel Studios have commented on the latest hire and it’s currently unknown how many episodes she’ll be working on.

Not much has been revealed for the upcoming series. However, Marvel producer, Stephen Broussard did share that Wonder Man will have a unique take on the Marvel hero and that the show would be different from what we’ve currently seen in the Marvel Disney Plus lineup.

The show is still in its pre-production stage, with Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton billed as the show’s executive producer. Also included in the team is Brooklyn Nine-Nine writer and Hawkeye producer, Andrew Guest, listed as the show’s head writer.

Asides from the show’s crew, only two cast members have been confirmed for the project. The first is former DC star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II who will play Simon Williams. The second is Ben Kingsley, reprising his role of Trevor Slattery feom Shang-Chi and Iron-Man 3.

Wonder Man is scheduled to come out in 2023, but there is speculation that it may be pushed to a later date.
