Prime Video has been doing the most with its marketing for season two of Good Omens, to the point of generating concern among fans. Luckily, Neil Gaiman is always around to put them all to rest.
As the big day approaches, Good Omens‘ social media accounts have been releasing still after preview clip after playlist, all in an effort to promote the show’s highly-anticipated second season. Does the series need this much promotion? Opinions vary. While some fans are blissfully riding the hype train, others are beginning to feel like it’s too much, and that when the new episodes are released there won’t be anything left to be surprised about.
As creator and executive producer of the show, Gaiman is one of the few people able to calm the fandom down, and he takes that role seriously. When questioned by fans about the sheer quantity of content being revealed by Prime Video, Gaiman promptly reassured them that there is still much about season two’s plot to be unveiled and that we’re far from knowing what truly awaits us.
Considering Prime Video’s track record with Good Omens spoilers, it’s understandable why fans feel this way. As you’ll recall, the streaming service recently ignited Gaiman’s fury precisely for showing too much, but it seems like it learned from its mistakes.
Joining the promotion party is Michael Sheen, who managed to provide fans with plenty of food for thought with a single word. Well, calling it a word might be an overstatement, but that’s neither here nor there.
The second season of Good Omens arrives on Prime Video on July 28.
