Girlboss, the latest original series setting up shop at Netflix, has zeroed in on its leading lady: Tomorrowland star Britt Robertson.

Hatched by Pitch Perfect scribe Kay Cannon, the 13-episode comedy takes cues from Sophia Amoruso’s popular memoir of the same name. Cannon is attached to produce the series alongside Charlize Theron, Laverne McKinnon, Christian Ditter and Amoruso herself. Ditter, fresh off helming How to be Single, will serve as director on Girlboss.

At the crux of the story, though, is Sophie (Robertson) a “rebellious, broke anarchist who refuses to grow up. She stumbles upon her passion of selling vintage clothes online and becomes an unlikely businesswoman. As she builds her retail fashion empire, she realizes the value and the difficulty of being the boss of her own life.”

That fashion empire was built on the foundations of Nasty Gal, a budding vintage clothing website that went on to seed a franchise of brick-and-mortar stores. Amid criticism levelled against the brand coupled with a host of layoffs, Amoruso stepped down as CEO in 2015, though her aforementioned memoir became an international bestseller soon thereafter.

Girlboss is expected to premiere exclusively on Netflix at some point in 2017. Despite mooted reports of a Tomorrowland sequel, next up for Robertson is intimate sci-fi drama The Space Between Us. It’s due to enter low Earth orbit on August 19.
