Now we’re getting to the good stuff.
With the next major Arrowverse crossover, “Elseworlds,” quickly approaching, we’re starting to see the hype machine kick into high gear. In the past week or so alone, The CW’s delivered new photos and even a couple of brief teaser promos. And things don’t look to be slowing down in the slightest, which is perfectly fine with us.
Case in point: Up above you can lay eyes on the latest teaser for “Elseworlds,” and this one delivers on what we’ve all been waiting to see. Yes, brief though it may be, this new preview does indeed feature the first footage of Ruby Rose’s Batwoman in action. We don’t get to watch her take out any thugs, unfortunately, but just seeing the character in the flesh – and standing in front of Barry and Cisco, no less – is hugely exciting.
At present, it’s still a bit unclear how Kate Kane factors into everything. We know that in the Arrowverse’s version of Gotham City, Batman’s been absent for several years, hence the need for Kate to step up and protect her home, but how she’ll cross paths with Ollie, Barry, Kara and the rest of the gang remains to be seen. Though if one thing’s for certain, it’s that the character looks awesome in live action here and we can’t wait to watch her start putting her combat abilities to use.
For more on what to expect from “Elseworlds,” be sure to check out the synopsis that’s been circulating of late:
“The three-night event begins with Arkham Asylum doc John Deegan (Lost’s Jeremy Davies) rewriting reality, which results in Oliver (Amell) and Barry (Gustin) swapping lives. In this new reality, Oliver Queen looks like Gustin and Barry Allen looks like Amell, and the two heroes are the only ones who know they’re in the wrong lives and have each other’s powers. This not only explains what’s going on in the recent promos, but also why the actors have swapped costumes.”
In case you don’t already have it marked down, the “Elseworlds” crossover begins on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continues on Monday, December 10 with Arrow, and wraps up on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl. Don’t. Miss. It.
